Despicable Grue
Well, grue is finished and awaiting feedback from my tutor, so I can forget about it (for now). Now I'm on holiday from work for a bit I chose to spend most of today wasting time. This included watching 'Despicable Me', until I discovered that the main character is called Gru. He made me start thinking about Grue again, so obviously I immediately stopped watching it.
I need to get some serious work done over the holidays. My dissertation supervisor e-mailed me to ask if I wanted to meet - not the right way round...So, from tomorrow dissertation hell begins. It actually began ages ago, but I think it needs to re-begin. Properly.

Grue Two
A day later and I STILL haven't finished with Grue. By now it was supposed to be over and with another one started, but unfortunately I took too long to realise that reading the actual text (rather than secondary commentaries) would help me understand what it means. I have clearly spent too much time on 'Modern' philosophy, where the opposite is true.
In other news, apparently watching X Factor and trying to write about philosophy doesn't really work. Who knew.
I would quite like to finish the essay tomorrow and not have to spend time after work trying to be coherent. Hmm.

The beginning of the end
Between now and Summer 2012 I need to do the following: write nine essays, a dissertation, prepare for four three hour finals exams, and put together an application for a postgrad place that will be accepted. Whilst working in a full-time job (until March anyway). Oh, and I need to actually understand what I'm writing about. And form a position of my own on various things.
Perfectly doable, I'm sure. I also need to stop being so annoyed by some of the people philosophy attracts. Slightly less doable, probably.
So far this year I've managed to write an essay a week, not that they count for anything at all or offer any unique insights into anything. I am unexpectedly back home for a few days and therefore off work and therefore able to do some philosophy. Starting with grue. There's no solution to the grue problem and still being stuck in the lands of scepticism I don't think induction is justified anyway but still, on with the essay...
After I've sent a class rep e-mail (yes, in addition to the above I decided it would be a great idea to act as class rep for my year).
